Winter 2023 on Film

It’s not just Film Christmas…my film captures from real life Christmas are in! The holidays can be quite chaotic with a tendency to fly by, so taking time to capture little moments on camera is my way of helping time slow down a bit. One of my favorite self-care practices is going on “photo walks” around our neighborhood, my hometown, or even our apartment, with my film camera to capture any corners that catch my eye. I do try to set down the camera and really be present for meals, etc. during the holiday season, but it’s fun to spend some time just exploring and seeing what everyone is up to from meal prep to leaf-blowing around the house. Admittedly, it’s also a nice escape when I’m feeling the effects of having the whole family in the same house for weeks on end, haha! (Happens to the best of us...) It’s so refreshing to take a step back and notice the way the light is coming through a window, a cool vintage car you slowed down enough to appreciate, or catching your loved ones in their natural habitat—looking oh so handsome while carrying in bags of groceries. I hope you enjoy looking at winter in our various households from my perspective and that it might inspire you to indulge your own film photography hobby. Enjoy!
