French Girl Spring Capsule Wardrobe
File this under things that are making my “no spend” January impossible.
Even though it’s currently peak season for dreary, rainy, winter weather as I’m writing this, my mind is already somewhere a bit warmer with cherry blossoms blooming right and left. And, as much as I can appreciate some chic cold weather layering that we get to experience this time of year, I’m just a warm weather girl at heart. So, as I’m looking at the icicles forming on the barren tree outside our apartment window, I’m gleefully living through my Pinterest boards filled with fashion girls dining al fresco or wandering the streets of Paris in their linen midi dresses. As much as I love to experiment with trends, I’m thankful that some things never go out of style. So, as I’m also pulling a major overhaul on my closet this month to get rid of nearly all of the “fluff",” I’m also able to get excited to breathe new life into some classic items of mine that have become a bit suffocated over the past year. (It’s an amazing feeling to actually be able to see what’s in your closet, as it turns out!) Calling it now: 2024 is the year of less and better. And who does that better than the French girl?
Below, I’m highlighting some classic pieces inspired by none other than our beloved French girl muse that I believe will act as the perfect foundation for your springtime wardrobe. Spoiler: You won’t find any ripped jeans or athleisure here, but you can pry my fully American-ized Lululemon Align leggings out of my cold, dead hands. If you’re ready to clear out the excess and make room for staples that will serve you effortlessly season after season, let’s get into it!
